Louise Grundy
About
Louise Grundy is a Manchester-based artist, who uses analogue photography and text to dissect traditional ideas of the landscape. Grundy’s practice is sensitive and reflective; she explores the relationship we have with the land, and challenges established visual narratives of place.
Working Title: I Once Dreamt I Lived Here and Everything was Warm
I Once Dreamt I Lived Here and Everything was Warm is a new project which explores my relationship to my hometown and my interpretation of what ‘home’ means to me. Through photographing familiar sights that have now become unfamiliar, I am grappling with my own feelings towards this place, now a stranger to it. I play truth in the work, blurring the lines of reality. The work aims to be reflective, complicated, and immersed in memory; to feel like home, but not quite.
